The Mission of United Way of Western Crawford County, Inc. is "to have a community where people have the best organized capacity to care for one another by identifying, addressing and supporting life-enhancing services that include efforts to prevent and cure human problems."
We support our mission by providing funds for programs and services that positively affect the lives of the residents of our community. Local United Way affiliated agencies have added something special to the quality of life in our county.
During the past seven decades, there have been many successes and help has been brought to thousands of people with special needs. The United Way has helped to employ people, to feed and clothe families, to help low income families maintain their homes, to provide safe environments for victims of abuse and to create safe caring places for our children.
We support our community by working in collaborative partnerships with "Make a Difference Day", French Creek Valley Community Improvement Center (FCVCIC), Meadville Area Chamber of Commerce, Community Council and others.
Another service we provide is publishing the Crawford County Human Services Directory. It's an invaluable resource to the community at large. Guidance counselors, human resource personnel, caseworkers, clients and ministers will all find the information very helpful. The services provided by the agencies listed in the directory are vital to health and growth of our community.
A special thank you to all the volunteers who help to make the United Way and its affiliated agencies successful throughout the year. As most agencies know, volunteers are our life-blood. Without them, we could not accomplish all that we do. Again, thank you.
