United Way teams up
annually with Channellock Inc. and Bassmasters of Crawford County to present the
our Fifth Annual Bass Classic Team Tournament on Conneaut Lake.
The event takes place
Friday, July 24, 2009, beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Conneaut
Lake. Organizers hope to see
at least 25 professional bass anglers paired with amateurs who
will fish the event through a
corporate sponsorship or purchased an amateur registration. The two-person teams hit the water from the Iroquois Club
dock area at Conneaut Lake at 7 a.m., with weigh-in at 1:00 p.m. on the Iroquois Club lawn.
Professional anglers provided the boats and all necessary equipment. Amateurs needed only show up with a valid Pennsylvania fishing license and sunscreen... ready to enjoy a fun day of fishing, competition, and friendship on Conneaut Lake.
Boat sponsors are especially needed for this event.
Largemouth boat sponsorships include two amateur registrations and Smallmouth boat sponsorships include one amateur registration. Banners identifying sponsored boats are placed at the weigh-in and public address mentions are made during the event. To further promote supporting businesses, boat sponsors are mentioned in media publicity prior to the event as well.
In the past four years, the United Way Bass Classic Team Tournament has generated approximately $64,000 to benefit the United Way's
affiliated agencies.
The money that we raise for the community is very important,
and we have a lot of fun doing it! It wouldn't happen without the efforts from Bassmasters of Crawford County, event sponsors, countless volunteers from the United Way and it's board of directors. Thanks
to all!
